getprotobyname

Get protocol number associated with protocol name

Description

intfalse getprotobyname(string $protocol)

getprotobyname returns the protocol number associated with the protocol protocol as per /etc/protocols.

Parameters

protocol

The protocol name.

Return Values

Returns the protocol number, or false on failure.
